40-foot tree, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ star light up Christmas Gift & Hobby Show

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana’s largest holiday shopping experience has returned to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for its 72nd year.

After a year off in 2020, the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show has more than 100 new vendors with holiday gifts, displays, decorations and more under the same roof.

News 8 caught up with Laura Groninger on Wednesday near the show’s 40-foot Christmas tree to talk about this year’s experience at the State Fairgrounds.

News 8 also got to talk with “It’s a Wonderful Life” star Karolyn Grimes, who brought her new cookbook along with some new paraphernalia to sign for fans of the 1946 classic Christmas film.

The Christmas Gift & Hobby Show will run through Sunday in the West Pavilion of the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Events Center.

Tickets cost $13. Children 12 and younger get in free.
