Cancer survivor Brad Miller launches podcast conference, Clean Comedy Cancer Benefit Show

Clean comedy for a good cause

Podcaster and cancer survivor Brad Miller is currently in the studio. After his retirement as a pastor, Miller was diagnosed with cancer just a month later. He decided to channel his expertise, holding a doctoral degree in transformational leadership and 11 years of podcasting experience, along with his love for comedy, into a new venture. This endeavor has taken the form of a podcast titled “The Cancer and Comedy Podcast: Healing Cancer Impacted People with Hope and Humor.”

Miller’s podcast has spawned an initiative known as the Clean Comedy Cancer Benefit show, a collaborative effort with Rik Roberts. The primary goal of this event is to raise awareness and financial support for cancer research through the Stand Up to Cancer Foundation, which was founded by Katie Couric. As part of the benefit show, Rik Roberts, renowned for his portrayal of the “Barney Fife” tribute character in the “Mayberry Man” movie, is offering a voice mail message as “Barney Fife” to a lucky ticket holder.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 4, at 7 p.m., the Clean Comedy Cancer Benefit will take place at HeavenEarth Church, located at 309 E. Main Street in Whiteland, Indiana 46184, directly across the street from Whiteland Community High School. Tickets and additional information can be found at CancerandComedy.com/events, with special rates available for groups and cancer patients or survivors.

Additionally, the podcast’s success has paved the way for the launch of Indy’s inaugural regional podcasting conference designed for independent podcasters, aptly named “PodINDY.” The conference will feature Hall of Fame Podcaster Dave Jackson, the author of “Profit from Your Podcast,” who will serve as the keynote speaker and workshop leader. Topics to be covered during the conference include planning, launching, growing, and monetizing independent podcasts, as well as leveraging Artificial Intelligence and networking with local podcasting luminaries. A podcasting studio kit, complete with a microphone, headphones, and interface, will be given away as well.

PodINDY is scheduled for Saturday, November 4, from 12-5 p.m. at HeavenEarth Church, located at 309 E. Main Street in Whiteland, Indiana, just across the street from Whiteland Community High School.
