Downtown Arts Market takes over Monument Circle

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Downtown Indy, Inc. has teamed up with the Arts Council of Indianapolis to present the Downtown Arts Market on the Circle.

Twenty artists and local crafting business owners are showcasing their talents through handmade masks, jewelry, home decor, paintings, ceramics, artisan soaps and body-care products, clothing, Macramé and more.

In the spirit of the Indianapolis 500, the Arts Council of Indianapolis will sell a limited number of “Welcome Race Fans” posters and will host a raffle to give away a $150 print of a piece of “Welcome Race Fans” artwork.

Watch the videos to see what Bob Schultz of Downtown Indy, Inc. and Shannon Linker of the Arts Council of Indianapolis have to say about what these events mean to the arts community, especially since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.

The first market kicked off Thursday at 4 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m.

Future dates: Sept. 17 and Oct. 15
