How to make Gingerbread Hot Cocoa

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Here is a recipe that has two festive desserts rolled into one! You’ll love this holiday hug in a cup.

  • 16 ounces milk 
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 
  • 1 pinch ground cloves 
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt 
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk on medium low.  
  2. Stir together cocoa, sweetener, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt in a small bowl and add it to the milk, continuing to stir on low, and making sure mixture doesn’t boil. After it has gotten warmed, turn off heat and stir in vanilla.
  3. Pour into mugs and enjoy!
