Tru Dialogue forum of teens, community leaders seeks solutions to youth issues

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s an event where Indianapolis youths get to make their voices heard by city and state leaders on the issues in their own communities.

It’s the fifth installment of the teen-led forum called Tru Dialogue.

On Saturday, young people can speak directly to community members and anyone else interested in hearing the youth discuss their successes and challenges while collaborating to come up with solutions.

They plan to cover a number of issues from gun violence to mental health and the impact of COVID-19.

This year’s event is going virtual, but, according to event-leader Brandon Randall, they still managed to get more than 200 people registered for the forum.

Watch the video to hear the report from News 8’s Randall Newsome as well as Austin Juarez, 17, and Cameran Nellum, 15, about their expectations for Tru Dialogue Part 5.
