Visit Indiana celebrates fall with ‘Best of Indiana: The Twenty in 20’ voting campaign

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Visit Indiana is once again hosting the “Best of Indiana” with “The Twenty in 20” voting campaign.

This year, you can vote in three different categories: Favorite lake, favorite doughnut shop, and Indiana’s most “unique sleeps.” The winning spots not only get bragging rights but also a prominent spot on the Visit Indiana website, along with potential marketing campaigns.

Misty Weisensteiner, the director of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, says even as a long-time Hoosier herself, she’s still surprised by some of the hidden sights and stops she’s learned about because of this event.

“Did you know you could sleep in a castle in Indiana?” she asked. “I had no clue. All of these great, cool places to pick up a doughnut and then of course, we love our lake life.”

You can vote up to five times a day.

The organization is also welcoming residents to participate in this year’s Lovin’ Fall fun guide celebrating things to do and places to visit throughout the state. That list features suggestions for “fall getaways,” including road trip destinations and popular vineyards to try this time of year.
