Animal shelter re-opens after dogs get sick

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) – The Madison County Humane Society re-opened Friday at Noon after closing when several dogs became sick.

The temporary closure went into effect on May 22 when two dogs died and more than a dozen became sick at the shelter.

The shelter is still taking donations. They need furnace filters to keep air properly filtered throughout the facility.

There is no word on what made the dogs sick, but an employee said one of the dogs died of pneumonia.
