Another slick start with accumulating snow Thursday, Saturday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Highs on Wednesday afternoon have warmed into the upper 30s.
Clouds will stick with us for the remainder of the day.
Wednesday night, expect to see snow chances increasing especially after midnight. Low temperatures Wednesday night will fall to the upper 20s and lower 30s.
A winter storm advisory has been issued from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday.
Thursday morning will be a messy start with snow from Indy and points northward and a mix of snow and rain south of Interstate 70. Expect snow accumulation from around 1-2 inches from Indy and points northward. Once temperatures warm through the day, most of the precipitation will fall as rain. Highs will warm to the upper 30s.
Friday will be cloudy and mild before another winter system moves in for the weekend.
All eyes are on Saturday with an impending snowstorm. Snow is likely aross the state with higher accumulations from I-70 and points northward. Ice and rain also in the mix for areas south of the city. Winds will also gust at 25 to 30 mph creating blowing and drifting snow.
Sunday, after the storm system moves out, bitterly cold air will move behind it and plunge temperatures to below zero. A second winter system will move in midweek next week with more snow.
