Arts organizations unite at Spotlight Indy
It’s the only event of its kind in Indianapolis, and today on Indy Style, we get a glimpse of what’s coming to Clowes Memorial Hall next month!
David Hochoy, Artistic Director, Spotlight Indy, tells us more about the big event:
• Spotlight Indy: Organizations of all types come together to showcase all Central Indiana has to offer from dance to spoken word and poetry to song
• Date: Monday, April 15, 2019
• Performance at Butler Arts Center’s Clowes Memorial Hall starts at 7:30PM
• Tickets are $25 and available at www.Spotlightindy.org
• VIP Reception at Butler Arts Center’s Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts starts at 6PM
o The VIP reception sells out and does not NEED a mention, but it is fun!
• All of the performers come together to raise dollars to prevent the further spread of HIV in Indiana; Dollars benefit the Indiana AIDS Fund
o All dollars stay in Indiana for HIV prevention
o In previous years, the focus on prevention meant education and outreach only.
o Now, prevention Includes what is known as: treatment as prevention
Research shows that anti-retroviral treatment for people living with HIV decreases detectable viral load and therefore no longer transmit the disease.
Anti-retroviral treatment is also known as ART. ART and Spotlight go hand in hand.
