‘Ashes on the Go’ offered for Lent for 3rd year

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Christ Church Cathedral understands that the citizens of Indianapolis are busy on Ash Wednesday and are offering “Ashes on the Go”.

This is the third year that the church is making Ash Wednesday available on the street.

The clergy will pray and mark foreheads with ceremonial ash to willing pedestrians, regardless of denomination or faith.

Today is the first day of Lent. Lent observances date back to the 4th century.

It’s a time before Easter where many give up something they love, while others take up acts of charity.
