Athletic trainer discusses risks of sports specialization
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Some experts are speaking out about the dangers of kids focusing on just one sport too soon, also known as sports specialization.
Carl Palma, an athletic trainer with Community Health Network, joined Daybreak on Monday to talk about the recent trend.
Palma explained why sports specialization is becoming more common, the dangers it poses and how playing multiple sports can actually benefit kids who want to play at the college — or even professional — level.
