Avon Chick-fil-A closes plaground to help prevent spread of coronavirus

AVON, Ind. (WISH) — The Chick-fil-A in Avon has closed its playground to help curb the spread of coronavirus.

The restaurant made the announcement on Facebook on Monday morning.

“Out of abundance of caution and care we are temporarily closing our playground and will institute a few changes to our operations,” the post reads. “We are in contact with the Hendricks County Health Department and local officials to monitor the situation.”

On Sunday night, the Avon Community School Corporation announced an elementary student had tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, the state health commissioner and the Hendricks County Health Department have recommended that Hickory Elementary School be closed for two weeks.
