Beautiful today, storms return later this week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another great day across the area. The pattern turns active starting late Tuesday.

Today;

Quiet weather all around the state for a second day in a row. Expect sunshine, low humidity, and comfortable temperatures. Highs top out in the lower to middle 70s.

Tonight:

Mainly clear and quiet overnight. Cool, but not as chilly as Monday morning. Lows fall to the middle 50s.

Tuesday:

Should be a quiet day with warmer temperatures and slightly higher humidity. Can’t rule out a stray afternoon shower or storm, but better chances for rain arrive well after sunset Tuesday night.

Highs hit the middle 70s.

8-day forecast:

Active weather pattern emerging across the Midwest starting Wednesday, with on and off showers and storms through the rest of the extended forecast. Heavy rain will be the biggest concern over the 5-6 day stretch, with the possibility of several areas seeing between 2-4 inches of rainfall through the end of the weekend.

Meanwhile, temperatures return to near normal, with highs around 80° for the second half of the 8-day forecast.
