Big changes for Mother’s Day weekend!
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A cool start to Thursday morning with temperatures in the lower to mid-40s with a mostly clear sky. Lots of sunshine for the first half of the day which will help boost temperatures quickly to the upper 60s Thursday afternoon. A bit breezy with winds out of the west at 15-20 mph. Later on, clouds will begin to thicken up with showers arriving after midnight tonight. Lows will fall to the mid-40s.
We’ll wake up to showers Friday morning. They’ll stick around through the morning drive and should exit the state midafternoon. Winds will pick up during the afternoon with highs only warming to the lower 50s. Winds will shift to the NW at 15-20 mph for sustained winds.
Lows will fall to near, if not below, the freezing mark early Saturday morning prompting a Freeze Watch for central Indiana and a Freeze Warning for eastern Indiana. We’ll rebound quickly with highs in the mid-50s with a partly sunny sky. It’ll be cool for Mother’s Day with highs in the mid-50s with rain around through the afternoon.
Early next week looks dry with highs warming to the lower 60s. We’ll slowly start to head to near normal with highs by the end of the week in the upper 60s to near 70° with a few scattered showers.
