Blue Angels flyover happening today. Here’s what you need to know.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – For about 11 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, The Blue Angels plan to take to the skies of Indianapolis paying tribute to essential workers amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
The demonstration will start at 2 p.m. in Beech Grove making its way over downtown towards Speedway, then heading South side before going north through Meridian Hills and back downtown via the east side.
The elite Navy team salutes have been happening across the country as a thank you to healthcare workers, first responders and other essential employees.
Organizers say six F-18s will fly over the Circle City after saluting essential workers in Detroit and Chicago.
The Blue Angels first tweeted their Indianapolis news on Sunday and released the flight plan Monday.
Residents are advised not to gather in crowds and not to travel in an attempt to see the planes.
