Body found in pond ID’d as missing Westfield woman

WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A Westfield woman missing for a week was found dead Tuesday afternoon in her car submerged in a retention pond, officials said.

The body of Nancy Gillett and the red Mitsubishi Eclipse she had been driving was discovered around 2 p.m. in a pond off Carey Road north of 146th Street and near a commercial area with a grocery, liquor store and gas station.

Gillett was last seen Feb. 26 in Westfield.

Gillett was the subject of a Silver Alert issued Feb. 28.
