Body found in river ID’d as missing Shelbyville man
SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Authorities on Monday confirmed that the body kayakers found on Sunday in the Big Blue River was 38-year-old Christopher Young, who was reported missing on Nov. 7.
Kayakers found the body in the Big Blue River on Sunday around 4 p.m. and called authorities, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The cause and manner of death remains pending as of Monday afternoon.
Shelbyville Police told 24-Hour News 8 they were looking for him back on Nov. 7. Since then, many in the community came together to support his family and help with the search efforts.
The family formed a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.
