Body of 26-year-old man found after 3-day search of Sugar Creek

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The search for man seen yelling for help on Sunday while floating down Sugar Creek ended Wednesday afternoon when his body was found. 

The body of 26-year-old Luke Clark of Perrysville was found about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday. 

Conservation officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and others recovered the body about 1-1/2 miles downstream from The Creekside Lodge Restaurant, according to a news release from Natural Resources Sgt. Blaine R. Gillan. 

Around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, customers at the restaurant reported seeing a man floating in the nearby creek.

Conservation officers along with the Crawfordsville police and fire departments and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office participated in the recovery. 

An autopsy was set for 8 a.m. Thursday in Terre Haute to determine the cause of death.
