Boone Co. head-on crash kills one, sends one to hospital

LEBANON, Ind. (WISH) – A fatal head-on collision closed part of State Road 39 in Boone County on Saturday morning.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call of a vehicle collision at approximately 11:08 a.m.

After some investigation at the scene of the crash, police determined that a blue car heading north on SR 39 hit a southbound van.

The driver of the blue car, a 33-year-old man from Lebanon, was trapped in his car when police arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the minivan, a 38-year-old woman, was transported to St. Vincent Hospital – Indianapolis with minor injuries.

Police have announced that State Road 39 has been closed just south of Lebanon, near 600 South, and are urging traffic to avoid the area.
