Brutal cold returns

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The workweek will begin with brutally cold temperatures and below-zero windchills.

Sunday night: Snowfall ends early Saturday night and skies will clear.

Cold air begins to push in overnight due to an arctic high bringing single digit lows for most areas across the state. We’ll have a low of 8 degrees in the metro area.

Monday: Bundle the kids up for the bus stop Monday morning. Cold temperatures and brisk winds will make it feel like it’s below zero.

Winds will gust close to 20 mph at times during the day keeping wind chill values in the single digits for the afternoon. 

We’ll stay quiet Monday with mostly sunny skies, and highs will be more than 20 degrees below normal.

The cold air sticks around Tuesday morning. Wind chills stay below zero for the first part of the morning.

8-Day Forecast

Temperatures return to normal for the end of the work week.  A storm system brings a chance of rain and snow to the area on Thursday. 

Highs climb into the 40s and possibily 50 for next weekend.
