Dick’s Bodacious Bar-B-Q closing its doors downtown for good

INDIANAPOLIS (WIBC) — Dick’s Bodacious Bar-B-Q at 50 N. Pennsylvania St. has been serving up slow-smoked meats to the people of Indy for over 10 years.

On Saturday, however, the restaurant will be closing its doors for good.

Jason Kocher, the owner and operator of Dick’s Bodacious Bar-B-Q, says both the pandemic and damage from the riots hit the restaurant hard. In addition, overall crime in Indy, he says, has made downtown an unfriendly place to operate.

According to Kocher, business at the restaurant is now down 40% to 45%. As a result, he has decided to “cut his losses” and move on to something new.

Kocher hopes to establish another business sometime in the future in Hendricks County.
