Indiana jobless claims up

Another 965,000 Americans filed new unemployment claims last week.

Indiana had the 14th biggest increase in weekly jobless claims last week.

Indiana has seen an 1,100% increase in jobless claims since the pandemic began.

The U.S. has lost all of the job gains made since the Great Recession.

Vaccine tourism

The Wall Street Journal says some northern state residents are heading to Florida for vaccine tourism.

Even overseas tourists are coming.

Florida was one of the first to offer the shot to adults aged 65 and older.

Governor DeSantis says if someone is wintering in the state, it’s fine, but he discourages vaccine tourism.

Biden unveils relief plan

President-elect Joe Biden unveiled the details of a $1.9 trillion coronavirus rescue package Thursday night.

it includes direct payments of $1,400 to most Americans, bringing the total relief to $2,000.

It increases the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour and provides billions to states and cities that are deep in debt.

Kids received $8.75 a week in allowance

RoosterMoney, the allowance and chore tracking app, reveals that kids received an impressive $455 in allowance – $8.75 a week – last year, and encouragingly they saved 45% of it.

Video games Roblox & Fortnite also dominated the spending charts as kids spent more time at home.

It says 66% of parents gave a regular allowance last year.

Robot that does laundry

The Bot Handy from Samsung has a single arm and three pivot points allowing enough flexibility to grasp, carry and position items as delicate as dishes.

It has cameras that with the assistance of AI can recognize objects like laundry and handle them accordingly.
