Monday’s business headlines
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Here’s a look at Monday’s business headlines.
Buying vs renting
Realtor.com says it still makes financial sense to buy a home in Indianapolis, despite price increases last year.
It says the median price of a home in the area is $279,000.
The median mortgage payment is $1,190 and the median rent payment is slightly higher at $1,199.
Both take about 22% of monthly income.
Tax refund average
Generally, the sooner you file your taxes, the sooner you’ll see your refund in the bank.
For the 2020, filing season, the average federal tax refund for individuals was $2,707.
The average refund in Indiana was $2,662.
iMac Pro
Apple is no longer making the iMac Pro, once the most-powerful computers the company offered.
For those looking to get their hands on the all-in-one-Mac, they can still do so for a limited time.
The $4,999 standard model can still be purchased on Apple’s website but only while supplies last.
Once existing inventory runs out, the iMac Pro will no longer be available.
E-tickets
While the pandemic accelerated adoption of mobile ticketing, the organizations are going to great lengths and expense to secure the data that comes with it.
The worry is that tickets could be hacked or privacy violated.
It is easier to prevent counterfeit ticket fraud however.
