Citi

Citi plans to spend more than $1 billion to help close America’s racial wealth gap.

CNN reports the bank will spend $550 million to help more people of color purchase homes and promote affordable housing built by minority developers.

About $350 million will be dedicated to procurement opportunities for black-owned business suppliers.

Walmart

Walmart is bracing for an onslaught of online orders this holiday season and will hire more than 20,000 seasonal associates nationwide.

The new hires will assist the company’s e-commerce fulfillment centers across the country.

Walmart said a variety of positions are available, including order fillers and power equipment operators, all of which will receive a starting hourly rate ranging from $15.75 to $23.75 based on location, position and schedule.

Boeing

Boeing wants to patent its ultraviolent light wand that can sanitize surfaces.

It’s being used to clean aircraft surfaces.

It was specifically designed to neutralize harmful viruses and bacteria on airplanes.

Tea

Prices of wholesale tea leaves have jumped 50% since March.

The Wall Street Journal reports remote work and other home routines established during the coronavirus pandemic have led more people to reach for cups of tea, which is consumed in larger amounts worldwide than any other drink than water.
