INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Here’s a look at Thursday’s business headlines.
Gas prices
Oklahoma and Texas are the only two states in the nation where the average price of gas still sits below $3 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
Prices in Texas and Oklahoma are averaging at $2.99 and $2.97 per gallon, respectively.
However, prices in those states will likely rise “in the next few days,” according to economists.
AAA says the current average in central Indiana is $3.35 a gallon.
Bitcoin
Bitcoin price hit an all-time high Wednesday.
It reached $66,974.
Bitcoin prices has risen in recent days as a new way to invest in the cryptocurrency, an ETF, launched this week.
McDonald’s
McDonald’s now pays its women employees who are in the same job as a man, the same.
McDonald’s began tackling the issue of equal pay years ago, while external studies still show that women around the world are being paid 20% less than their male counterparts.
The company says it is on track to close the gap worldwide by 2022.
