Thursday’s business headlines

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Here’s a look at Thursday’s business headlines.

Gas prices

Oklahoma and Texas are the only two states in the nation where the average price of gas still sits below $3 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

Prices in Texas and Oklahoma are averaging at $2.99 and $2.97 per gallon, respectively.

However, prices in those states will likely rise “in the next few days,” according to economists.

AAA says the current average in central Indiana is $3.35 a gallon.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin price hit an all-time high Wednesday.

It reached $66,974.

Bitcoin prices has risen in recent days as a new way to invest in the cryptocurrency, an ETF, launched this week.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s now pays its women employees who are in the same job as a man, the same.

McDonald’s began tackling the issue of equal pay years ago, while external studies still show that women around the world are being paid 20% less than their male counterparts.

The company says it is on track to close the gap worldwide by 2022.
