INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Here’s a look at Thursday’s business headlines.

Subaru

Subaru in Lafayette is getting a $158 million expansion and is adding 350 new jobs.

It will add a new service parts facility and a transmission assembly shop.

Both projects will be located on the plant’s Lafayette’s campus, with the transmission assembly shop to be added to the existing plant, construction of that addition and the stand-alone service parts facility is expected to begin this summer.

Small business

Revenue projections for Hispanic small business owners are at a four-year high, and Hispanic entrepreneurs are more optimistic about the local and national economies than their non-Hispanic peers.

The Bank of America report says Hispanics are the most optimistic, fastest-growing demographic of entrepreneurs.

Hispanic women are starting businesses at a high rate than any other group.

Microsoft/China

Microsoft warned investors that it will fall short of previously issued sales guidance.

The company says it sees strong windows demand in line with our expectations. The supply chain is returning to normal operations at a slower pace than anticipated.

Apple had already warned about production delays.

Oil

Oil extended declines to the lowest in a year on fears the fast-spreading coronavirus will take a major toll on the global economy.

Futures in New York fell 1.4% after plummeting more than 7% over the previous three sessions.
