INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Jane King is in with the latest business headlines.

Salesforce

Employees at Salesforce signed a letter to their CEO Marc Benioff asking him to reconsider the company’s contracts with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

More than 650 employees signed the letter, according to Bloomberg and Buzzfeed.

Federal debt

The federal debt is headed for the highest since World War II.

And it’s getting worse.

The CBO says debt will be 152 percent of GDP by 2048.

Facebook

Facebook has abandoned its plans to build giant drones that would beam the internet to hard to reach corners of the world.

The company says it will layb off the workers involved in that program.

The program had a rocky start and redesigns of the drone before Facebook decided to scrap it altogether.

Instagram

Instagram will now allow for video chat.

It’s part of the direct messaging feature and said that it could be used by up to five people at a time.

Instagram also announced a new “topics” feature on its “explore” tab, as well as new photo filters designed by pop star Ariana Grande and others.
