Camp hosts week for kids affected by HIV/AIDS

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Summer camp started Sunday for kids from seven to 17 who, for the next week, will do everything other campers get to do.

But what makes this session special is that it’s a week of camp for children who have HIV or AIDS or have a close family member with the disease.

It’s at Jameson Camp in Indianapolis, and it’s an opportunity for kids affected by the disease to interact with others facing the same obstacles everyday.

The camp includes all the usual camp activities in addition to special HIV/Aids education. It’s free for anyone who attends.

There will be about 60 campers this session.
