Carmel Fire Department remembers 9/11
CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – In Carmel at the Fire Department at the Fire Headquarters people gathered outside to remember those who died on 9/11.
The sound of bagpipes filled the air as the color guard held the flags in formation. A firefighter’s uniform was folded on the table to remember the victims.
They lowered the flags to half-staff and placed a wreath outside the headquarters with a banner that said never forget.
On display they have steel plates that came from the Twin Towers. They say it is a symbol and a piece from that moment they can look at to remember the innocent lives of the firefighters and police responders who ran in to help that day.
