Colts at Chiefs: the cheapest ticket in next playoff round

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Saturday will mark the Colts’ closest playoff game to their home base, Lucas Oil Stadium.

Colts fans are planning the trip to Kansas City.

Indianapolis to Kansas City is about a 7.5 hour drive – a straight shot across Interstate 70 West.

Colts Nation bleeds blue, but traveling fans might save some green, according to Mike Peduto of Circle City Tickets. He said the Colts at Chiefs is the lowest-priced among upcoming playoff games.

“Part of it is because Kansas City is a smaller market,” Peduto said.

Circle City Tickets was selling upper-level seats for about $150 on Monday and lower levels for $350 to $550.

“I think as far as our fans, this might be one where there will be the most Colts fans at it. It’s just a lot easier to get over to Kansas City than to New England,” Peduto said.

TicketMaster listed seats Monday starting at $120, and SeatGeek showed similar prices. The company TickPick also said the game is the cheapest ticket out of any of the playoff games.

The Colts are promoting a package from the Bullseye Event Group that includes air fare, bus rides, a three-hour tailgate with food and drinks, and tickets. The price ranges from about $1,300 to $1,400, depending on your seats.

The company expects to sell out by Wednesday.

Peduto said, win or lose, the excitement might carry over to next season.

“Once that schedule is announced, end of April, first of May, we’re hopeful we’ll see more demand at that point,” Peduto said.

Other travel options include:

  • A Greyhound bus ride for around $250 round trip.
  • Amtrak train tickets for about $250 to $300 round trip.
