Colts QB Chad Kelly suspended for first 2 regular season games

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Chad Kelly, who signed with the Indianapolis Colts this month as a quarterback, will sit out the first two games of the team’s 2019 regular season after violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

The suspension stems from an October arrest in Denver for criminal trespassing in Denver.

Kelly was released by the Broncos immediately after that arrest.

Statement from the NFL:

Chad Kelly of the Indianapolis Colts has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2019 regular season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Kelly is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games. Kelly will be eligible to return to the Colts’ active roster on Monday, September 16 following the team’s September 15 game against the Tennessee Titans.
