AVON, Ind. (WISH) — Avon High School students will be learning remotely starting Thursday, according to the school’s principal. The decision was made after several students tested positive for coronavirus.

“We learned today that seven students tested positive for COVID-19,” Matt Shockley announced on the school’s website Wednesday. “AHS is also experiencing high numbers of staff and student quarantines.”

The school plans to return to in-person learning on Dec. 4.

“We knew the day might come when we would be called back to eLearning for the safety of our students and staff, and it has arrived,” said Shockley.

Extra-curricular activities will go on as scheduled, according to the story.
