Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office temporarily closed after several employees test positive for COVID-19

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — The criminal division of the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office has been closed until further notice after several employees tested positive for coronavirus, according to prosecuting attorney Eric Hoffman.

Hoffman announced the closure of the office in a press release Wednesday. The office is located at 100 W. Main St. Suite 312 in Muncie.

“Due to multiple precautions that have already been in place for months, there is little to no risk of exposure by members of the public and little to no risk of exposure by county staff outside of our office,” Hoffman said in the press release.

Health officials with the Indiana State Department of Health are working to contact individuals who are considered close contacts of the individuals who tested positive.

Hoffman said all employees at the prosecutor’s office will be working from home and meetings or depositions that were scheduled to take place at the prosecutor’s office have been canceled.
