INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Governor Eric Holcomb does not have COVID-19.

On Thursday morning, Holcomb’s office revealed that he tested negative for the coronavirus.

Holcomb was tested after it was revealed Wednesday that State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box, her daughter and her grandson had tested positive for COVID-19.

“Janet and I are wishing Dr. Box and her family a speedy recovery,” Gov. Holcomb said. “The coronavirus does not discriminate, and this further highlights the importance of wearing masks and social distancing.”

The governor’s office says Box will quarantine for 14 days.

Also on Wednesday, Holcomb extended the statewide mask mandate to Nov. 14.
