ISDH: 1,724 new COVID-19 cases; 5 more deaths recorded

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – New COVID-19 data has been released by the Indiana State Department of Health.

The department announced Monday it will begin posting new numbers on its coronavirus dashboard and its coronavirus vaccination dashboard by 5 p.m. daily instead of the usual noontime weekday posts. Also, a message posted on the state’s coronavirus vaccination dashboard, said, “Due to technical issues, today’s dashboard does not include vaccinations reported on Sunday.”

ISDH says 1,724 more Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19. Those tests were recorded on Sept. 26.

A total of 954,230 Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19 since March 2020.

On Monday, ISDH reported zero new deaths from COVID-19 in Indiana, although the number of deaths had increased by five since the state’s last report Friday.

A total of 14,980 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. Another 494 “probable” deaths have occurred but a positive test is not on record.

The 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals stands at 19.2%. The 7-day positivity rate for all tests is 10.3%.

A total of 13,454,416 tests have been administered to 4,170,864 Hoosiers.

There are currently 2,181 Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19.

ISDH says 6,488,095 vaccination doses have been administered to Hoosiers, and 3,248,740 Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.

According to the Regenstrief Institute, 853,731 Hoosiers are estimated to have recovered from the virus.

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, there have been more than 232,215,000 confirmed cases worldwide, with more than 4,754,000 deaths.
