Tips for dealing with trauma during a pandemic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — During the coronavirus pandemic, many people have been dealing with feelings they’ve never experienced before that could be classified as trauma.

Dr. Danielle Henderson, a clinical psychologist from IU Health, joined Daybreak Saturday via Zoom to talk about what the trauma can look like and how you should cope.

“For a lot of us, this (the pandemic) has given us a lot of time to think about experiences from our past,” said Henderson. “Some people in their past may have experienced war, combat, abuse of some sort. It can be a very difficult time.”

Henderson also discussed how the pandemic itself could be traumatic for some.
