Coroner: White Co. infant dies from blunt force trauma
CHALMERS, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police are investigating after a child died in an Indianapolis hospital on Tuesday.
According to ISP, a 2-month-old received life-threatening injures Friday while in the care of his father, 22-year-old Conor Ty Jackson.
The infant was taken to Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette and later transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. The child was pronounced dead on Tuesday at 10 p.m.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office said the 2-month-old suffered from blunt force trauma, according to the autopsy result.
ISP preliminary charged Jackson with neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury. Jackson was booked at the White County Jail, where he is awaiting formal charges.
