‘Countdown to Rio’ turns Georgia St. into beach party
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Georgia Street was packed Thursday for a beach party to kick off the P&G Gymnastics Championships.
The Countdown to Rio party included sand and sun, the perfect way to get fans in the mood for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Colts cheerleaders were also on hand signing calendars and taking pictures.
Young gymnasts were doing back walkovers in the middle of Georgia Street, all to get people excited about the best athletes in the world competing in Indianapolis this weekend.
“Anyone who wants to be on the Olympic team is here competing to get there,” said Ryan Bond, President of Indiana Sports Corp. “But if you’re a family and you just want to come down and enjoy the environment, we’ve got a lot to do.”
Competition is today through Sunday at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse.
