Crews respond to northwest side residence fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Emergency crews responded to a residence fire on the city’s northwest side Sunday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, dispatch received a call about the fire at approximately 5:10 a.m.  Minutes later the first crew arrived on scene in the 3900 block of Bertrand Road.

Upon arrival, heavy fire was witnessed coming from the single story structure.

Crews were able to get the fire under control about a half hour later, around 5:45 a.m.

No injuries were reported.   The home was under renovation, so there were no occupants.

Damage to the structure has been estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
