1 dead, 1 seriously injured in shooting on city’s west side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One man has died and another man was seriously injured after a shooting on the city’s west side, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
The shooting was first reported around 1:30 p.m. in the 700 block of South Whitcomb Avenue.
When officers arrived to the scene they found one man had suffered serious injuries after being shot. That man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries.
IMPD said while officers were securing the residence they found another man who had been shot. That victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of that man has not yet been released.
Details on the circumstances that led up to the shooting have not been released.
It is unclear at this time if a suspect is in custody or on the loose.
