1 dead after shooting on city’s near southeast side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person has died after he was reportedly shot on the city’s near southeast side Friday morning, according to police.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 11:20 a.m. Friday to the 1020 Hosbrook Street on reports of a person shot. That’s an address for an apartment complex near Shelby Street and Virginia Avenue, east of the South Split.
When they arrived to the scene they found a male who had suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office as 22-year-old Dein Matthews, was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
