30-year-old man dead after shooting on city’s northeast side
UPDATE: Police identified the victim Sept. 2 in a list of 2020 homicides as 30-year-old Justin Bonds. An arrest was made in the case.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One man is dead after a shooting on the city’s northeast side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 5200 block of Leone Place around 11:30 p.m. Saturday on reports of a person shot. That’s near 56th Street and Shadeland Avenue.
When officers arrived to the scene they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
It is unclear at this time what led to the shooting. Police have not released any information about a suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
