1 killed, 1 injured in Shelby County shooting
FOUNTAINTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – A 39-year-old man died after a Sunday morning shooting in Shelby County.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, around 9: 45 a.m., deputies were called to a residence in the 1100 block of North State Road 9 for a “shots fired” report. That block is just south of U.S. 52.
Once on the scene, deputies found an unresponsive 39-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The sheriff’s office identified the man on Wednesday as Joseph A. Harris of Fountaintown.
Another man, a 67-year-old, also at the scene was injured. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
No further suspect or victim information had been released by Wednesday.
