1 killed in shooting on west side

UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was killed as 45-year-old Charles Allen.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person was killed in an overnight shooting on the city’s west side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Before 2 a.m., officers were called to the 3800 block of West Michigan Street for a report of a person shot.

After getting to the scene, officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

That person was pronounced dead on the scene.

It’s unclear what led up to the fatal shooting.

No suspect or victim information has been released.
