2 seriously injured in shooting on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people were seriously injured in an overnight shooting on the city’s east side, according to police.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers were called to the 1600 block of Kildare Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. for a person shot report.

After getting to the scene, officers located two gunshot victims.

Police said they were driving at the time of the shooting and then crashed their car.

The man and woman were transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Officers believe that they were shot at from another car.

No suspect or victim information has been released.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
