2 Wayne Township students arrested after loaded guns found in their backpacks

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two students at Chapel Hill 7th and 8th Grade Center were arrested Tuesday after loaded guns were found in their backpacks, Wayne Township Schools said Wednesday.

The first gun was found based on a tip from a student about a possible weapon at the school, the district said.

Police were immediately involved, and the loaded gun in the second student’s backpack was located after further investigation.

No additional information about the students’ identities was provided.

Chapel Hill 7th and 8th Grade Center is located near the intersection of North Girls School Road and 10th Street on the west side.
