The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the victim of a Monday early-morning shooting on the city’s northwest side as 30-year-old Antoine Walton. He died of a gunshot wound to the head in a homicide.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One man is dead following a shooting on the city’s northwest side early Monday morning, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
The fatal shooting happened in the 8200 block of Lenox Lane just after 12:30 a.m.
After arriving on scene, officers noticed several people on scene and vehicles that had been struck by gunfire.
Officers found a man later identified as 30-year-old Antoine Walton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.
Police say the suspect was spotted leaving the scene in a vehicle with heavy front-end damage.
The fatal shooting marked the city’s 102nd criminal homicide, and the 111th homicide overall this year. At this time in 2017, the city had seen 85 criminal homicides.
