43-year-old man shot, killed on east side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 43-year-old man died following a Sept. 23 shooting on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers were called to a report of a person shot just after 10:30 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 600 block of North Grant Avenue. That’s northeast of East Michigan Street and North Sherman Drive.
Christopher Greene died from a gunshot, according to an IMPD 2020 homicide list issued Friday.
Court records show Edward Smith, 51, has been charged with a count of murder and a count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. A dispute led to the shooting, court documents showed.
After arriving on the scene, officers located a man who had been shot. He died on the scene.
