WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — A West Lafayette man is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl Saturday, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators were called to a home at 804 N 400 W just after 4 p.m. Saturday on a report of a sexual assault.

Donald Crider, 81, allegedly touched the girl inappropriately and later armed himself inside the home when he learned that police had been contacted.

Crider was taken into custody after he walked out of the home shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday following a standoff with police.

Online jail records indicate Crider remains in the Tippecanoe Jail on a charge of sexual battery and a charge of criminal confinement without bond.
