Coroner IDs Bloomington family in triple homicide-suicide

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — The Monroe County Coroner has identified members of a Bloomington family killed this weekend in a triple homicide-suicide case.

Coroner Joani Shields says the deceased are 61-year-old Jeffrey Mumper, 54-year-old Annamarie Greta Mumper, 26-year-old Emma Mumper and 18-year-old Jakob Mumper.

Police believe Jeffrey Mumper killed his wife, Annamarie, and his children, Emma and Jakob, before killing himself on Sunday morning.

Shields says all four are set to have autopsies in Terre Haute on Wednesday. Official cause and manner of death is pending, Shields says.

A woman had gone to the house to pick up a friend but no one answered the door, so she used her key to enter the home. After discovering what had happened, she called the police.

Bloomington police went to the home in the 2600 block of South Olcott Boulevard on the city’s south side just after 10 a.m.

Police have not released a motive.
